26 weeks and not giving up

I have made it to 26 weeks finally, and just thankful that I am able to still get outside and moving. Today was our weekly group roll/run/walk with Team RWB and even though I'm tired I feel GREAT. This journey hasn't been easy to stay active and try to remain healthy so that I don't gain a lot of weight this time around. As of my last dr appointment I am still down 8 lbs from where I started at 7 weeks pregnant since I have remained active and eating healthy.

What a truly amazing feeling to finish 4 miles knowing that you never gave up, but an even better feeling is having friends by your side as you cross the finish line. The best this about these weekly group fitness activities is that it something that I actually look forward to because I know that I am not alone.
This week we will see where I stand weight wise as I have another dr appointment which means another weigh-in to see where I stand on being healthy.

Rejuvenation for getting healthy

Over time I have had my good moments and bad moments while on my journey to healthy. I have had so many moments where I felt like I could just keep moving and nothing could stop me, but then I would have no energy and all I wanted to do was just give up. I am still amazed thay I could go 6 miles without giving up, yet lately I some how had lost my drive to get moving. The best thing that EVER could have happened for me was being introduced to Team RWB.
The chance to become a part of an organization who is about fitness and social interaction for Veterans and the communities that they live in. Since I found out about the organization I have volunteered with them at events, but soon my interaction with them would take me to a whole new level of finding out more about me.
This week for the first time a group of Team RWB women here where I live have committed to getting together twice a week in order to support each other and further our fitness capabilities. It was an amazing feeling for someone else to be right beside me and encourage me to not give up even if I didn't have the fastest pace in the world. Another great feeling for me was as my running partner stayed with me and our other two running mates came back because "you never leave a friend behind".
I never knew that an organization for veterans and our service members could in the end be the tool that I needed too. My new found love for putting my feet to the pavement will be just what I have needed to stay on my path to getting healthy. I cannot wait for the day when I can finally get out there moving and not be out of breath less than a minute into it. Team RWB is the blessing and avenue that I have needed for a long time to FINALLY get to the point that I can keep going and not give up. This time I have just gotten started and I WILL NOT QUIT!

New Motivation for my Journey

Lately I have really struggled with staying on track for my workouts, eating healthy and remaining accountable to my health goals. You would think after getting rid of 40 lbs already and starting to feel better about myself I would have a reason to keep going, but instead of gaining confidence I started to lose what I already had. That was though until I met Dolvett from Biggest Loser and EVERYTHING changed for me. His kindness and willingness to talk to me for a few minutes was the boost I needed to know that I am still at the beginning, so that I don't get discouraged.
Who would have thought that someone who is SO well known would take a few minutes to give me advice and treat me like just another person. After living SO long at over 300 pounds I still have moments where I cannot believe that I am REALLY doing this and there is actually a noticeable difference in the weight that I have lost.

The picture on the left was taken Summer 2011 when I was weighing in at my highest of 332 pounds. Well the GREAT thing is that the picture on the right was taken January 2013 after already getting rid of 40 pounds FOREVER!!!!!! To actually look at both of these pictures now is motivation, but also it makes me cry to really see just how much I had let myself go. My goal now is to get healthy, fit and reconditioned to be a firefighter again some day. If I can do this after all that I have been through then you can do it to, just don't give up and keep going!

Chaos in life

For the past month things around my house have been complete chaos. The thing though that has made me feel good about myself is that I use the chaos as motivation to get to the gym instead of using as an excuse not to go like I used to. It is amazing at how great I feel to go to the gym and workout instead of being at home moping around feeling sorry for myself because I cannot change what is going on around me. Lately though that hardest part has been not having support from those closest to me instead it seems that they would rather sabotage my progress.
When I started this journey my husband said that he wanted me to workout with him so I said I would except now I go to the gym and he just wants to stay at home. It has really become hard to understand my family since everyone in my house needs o loose some weight and get in shape, but I'm the only person putting the effort in with the foods and exercise. I just wish I could understand how someone says they want to loose weight but eats junk food and fast food all the time along with not using their free gym membership.
My latest motivator though to get healthy has been from my dad's mom being put in the hospital, a week later my mom was, and then two weeks later on this Monday my mom's mom was put in the hospital. It made me understand that if I don't get serious to loose the weight I might be in the hospital next and it could possibly be soon.
Emotionally I am feeling better about myself than I have in a long time, but physically I still have not reached a point where I can notice a difference. To all of my friends who are supporting me, thank you because you make a HUGE difference for me & motivate me.

Journey to All New Health

For as long as I can remember I have ALWAYS been overweight. Pictures for school, sports and even with the family all have me as "the chubby one". Time and time again I have said "now is the time that I am going to loose the weight", but someone says something to me and I give up like I have every other time. Well this time is a game changer because I am sick of being 150 lbs overweight and being more than 50% body fat. So, today I am committing to myself to change the game and get serious about the weight loss so that I can become healthy and discover the health for my life that I need to be able to keep going. Today I am setting my goal weight to reach 175lbs after having reached my heaviest weight of 332lbs. This blog is where I will keep myself accountable by tracking the ups and downs of my journey. This journey is for me and I will no longer let any one else tear me down by saying that I cannot do this because "I CAN & I WILL!"
